ERNIE'S OUTDOORS- ABOUT US
ERNIE'S BIOGRAPHY
At Ernie's Outdoors we have many programs and options. We like to be able to offer a full outdoor experience
at whatever level you feel comfortable with. We recommend a four day trip. This allows us time to limit you out
on most all species, and is a well rounded program. Our normal requests are anywhere from one to eight days
with three to five being the average. For overnight trips, we have a freezer onboard Webbsite One.  Your catch
will be cleaned, wrapped in plastic and placed in our freezers to keep the maximum freshness.

Beach Combing - Ernie's hobby is beach combing so at Ernie's Outdoors we offer beach combing options
along with our fishing and camping. This program includes dropping guests off at a known location to walk the
beaches alone or with a staff member. You will be given a pack sack, refreshments, a portable marine radio and a
small safety kit to take with you. If you wish to return prior to the appointed pick up time you simply give us a
call on the radio and we will be right there. So far we have found Japanese glass balls, seashells, and messages
in bottles, just to name a few. We may wish to photograph the articles that you find for our historical records.

Ocean Kayaking - Ocean kayaking is very popular in the Pacific Northwest due to our pristine environment, the
numerous islands and passageways and generally protected waters. Kayakers can expect to see seals, sea lions,
sea otters, mink, martin, golden and bald eagles, numerous bird species and whales. We get requests from
kayakers to set up trips for them where we will reserve a kayak from the rental company and transport the
guests, kayaks and supplies to a preplanned destination. The kayakers enjoy any number of days exploring and
camping. At the end of their trip our staff returns to transport the guests and their memories back. Guests often
combine a kayaking and fishing experience, booking some fishing time with Ernie's Outdoors.

Diving - The waters of the north Pacific Ocean are classified as the best location for cold water diving in the
world. The islands and reefs are numerous and prolific in sea life. Spear fishing is possible and there are a few
wrecks. You will need your own good quality full wet suit. A dry suit is recommended. For more details contact
us.

Pastors' Ministry -  Ernie's Outdoors is pleased to be fully involved in ministering to pastors, missionaries and
Christian professionals who need time out, rest or rejuvenation.

Other - We are able to satisfy most other combinations or requests. If you imagine something, contact us.
OUR EQUIPMENT
Our mother ship, Webbsite One is a 32' ENOS, sporting such features as an electric toilet, diesel stove,
pressurized water, comfortable seating, a large rear deck with a swim grid which is excellent for halibut fishing,
and as a dive platform. Our swim grid is equipped with a single post dive ladder. This vessel is also equipped
with stabilizers which reduce the "rocking & rolling" in waves. Webbsite One can sleep four guests, two in a
small forward room, and two more in the main cabin. Sleeping is "cozy". Webbsite One can take six guests for a
day trip.

For safety, this vessel is equipped with an Auto Position Sensing Distress Radio, life jackets, and flares.

We are currently using a 21' modified, and a 19' Boston Whaler which can both accommodate four guests each

Our third 21' vessel is currently undergoing a refit and repower . This spacious vessel is comfortable and
equipped with the latest technology, setup as an extreme fishing machine, including down riggers, fish finder,
GPS, Auto Position Sensing Distress Radio, cell phone, and an outstanding guide.

Webbsite Too is a 19' vessel equipped with a 175hp outboard, and a 4-stroke trolling motor. Webbsite Too is
also setup as an extreme fishing machine, capable of trolling five lines and a capacity of four anglers.

These boats are foam filled and CANNOT sink!
All boats have Auto Position Sensing Distress Radios, cell phones, GPS, sonar, large fuel capacity, and
maintenance programs.

We use the best tackle available, including 11' Shimano Convergence mooching rods with Shimano GT4000, or
Penn 320 GTI reels loaded with 25lb. test Berkley Big Game line. We have several "left" hand reels available.
Please notify your guide prior to going out. We use Gamakatsu, and Gamakatsu, and only Gamakatsu hooks!
We find that they are sharper and superior to any other hook on the market, which results in more hook-ups per
bite. They are expensive, but we fish with the BEST!

Our halibut rods are Daiwa Westcoast Samurai halibut rods with Penn 330GTI Reels, loaded with 100lb. test
Tufline, and again we use Gamakatsu hooks on our halibut lines.
Ernie's Outdoors has been in business since 1979.

Our history started in the fast flowing rivers of the Skeena River watershed.  Skeena River holds many world
records for Chinook, including the current record of 99 pounds. We offered trips fishing for salmon and
steelhead, but it didn't take us long to tap into the richness of the north Pacific Ocean, offering a combination
of river and ocean trips. Eventually we sold our river guiding licence and then Ernie's Outdoors evolved into a
totally salt water experience, fishing for both salmon and the numerous bottom species such as halibut.

We still offer combination trips, partnering up with recognized charter lodges operating in the Skeena River
watershed.

We offer knowledgeable good guides that love to fish, have a sense of humour and are fully trained in
emergency duties.
